HPA Proposed Bylaws Revisions

In mid-October the Bylaws Review Committee, comprised of several HPA board members, started meeting to review the bylaws of the Hull Pottery Association. The bylaws were last revised in 2008. During the next months, the bylaws were examined sentence by sentence. The committee met many times by Zoom and discussed revisions via email.

The intent was to bring the document up to current standards, while also making it flexible enough to be relevant for many years. The committee consulted Ohio law regarding non-profit organizations, online resources, and spoke at length with an HPA member who is well versed in non-profit bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order.

In March, all members of the HPA board were asked to review suggested changes to the bylaws. Their feedback was incorporated into the document.

The board would now like to hear from HPA members. The new proposed bylaws and an explanation of the suggested changes are now available for everyone to review here on this website.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. please send them to or contact any HPA board member. You can call, email or send an email via this website. Board member emails and phone numbers are available in the HPA Flash newsletter.

Please submit any comments, questions, or suggestions as soon as possible. The board will review all feedback and make changes if needed. A final board vote on the bylaws will be taken shortly after the national show and annual membership meeting. According to HPA bylaws, the bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the board.

The HPA board appreciates your feedback. Click on the buttons below to review and download the documents.
