Here is some background. In mid-October 2021 the Bylaws Review Committee, comprised of several HPA board members, started meeting to review the bylaws of the Hull Pottery Association. The bylaws were last revised in 2008. During the next months, the bylaws were examined sentence by sentence. The committee met many times by Zoom and discussed revisions via email.

The intent was to bring the document up to current standards, while also making it flexible enough to be relevant for many years. The committee consulted Ohio law regarding non-profit organizations, online resources, and spoke at length with a HPA member who is well versed in non-profit bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order.

In March, all members of the HPA board were asked to review suggested changes to the bylaws. Their feedback was incorporated into the document.

Emails about the proposed revisions were sent to all HPA members for which HPA had a good working email.

At the July 2022 national show, members in attendance were asked for feedback. Hard copies of the bylaws were also made available for members to take and review.

The HPA board appreciates your feedback. Click on the buttons below to review and download the documents.
